There are many options available to a newly qualified solicitor.
Below is a guideline of how to approach your job search and the way in which LAW Absolute can assist you once you have completed your Training Contract.
Specialism
It is typically unusual and extremely difficult to change specialism once you have embarked on your career so it really is imperative to choose the legal discipline to which you are best suited from the outset.
We can provide guidance and insight into the legal market, the legal disciplines which are in current hot demand and a considered projection for the foreseeable future.
When to Contact LAW Absolute
Our consultants are experts in the market and are here to offer their advice and expertise. It is a good idea to contact LAW Absolute four months before your training contact is to be finished or, if this is the case, as soon as you know that the firm has indicated they will not be able to offer your chosen seat. Typically peak hiring by law firms for NQs is in May and October.
Location
While we recruit nationwide, we are particularly strong at placing newly qualified solicitors into firms and practices in larger cities such as:
London Birmingham
Reading Sheffield
Manchester Leeds
Bristol Bath
Interim Options
While we are searching for your ideal permanent role, we have great success placing NQ’s into interim roles. These may be Document Review roles, inquiry or investigations work, senior paralegal positions or interim NQ roles.
It is understood that each NQ has unique requirements. LAW Absolute would be happy to have an initial conversation with you to discuss your career objectives and options.
